About the Role
The Cost Estimation Specialist will be responsible for coordinating all cost preparation activities and providing a profitable and competitive solution tailored to the supply strategy and in compliance with GEV Hydro's internal rules.
Responsibilities
Work closely with the Costing Center of Excellence and other stakeholders in the preparation and negotiation of offers.
Contribute to the development of the offer strategy and more specifically to the procurement strategy based on specifications, internal specifications, industrial diagram and preliminary engineering.
Optimize procurement diagrams and suppliers in collaboration with the procurement team.
Apply appropriate estimation methods based on tools, references and the offer strategy.
Estimate the costs of different equipment, as well as on-site services.
Provide cost elements to finalize the analysis of the commercial and financial aspects of offers.
Update costs throughout the offer process to ensure accuracy, validity and robustness of the costing while maintaining a competitive and profitable offer.
Participate in proposal management meetings to ensure competitiveness of offers and compliance with GEV Hydro procedures and instructions.
Contribute to the maintenance and development of cost analysis tools, databases and methods.
Assess competitiveness and validate methods according to industry best practices.
Conduct comparative analyses to support sales teams.
Conduct post-mortem and feedback analyses.
Support contract execution teams to estimate amendments to current contracts.
Ensure efficient and rigorous transfer and monitoring of budgets to project execution teams.
