About Ge Vestas

The GE Vernova Hydro engineering team primarily works on turbine and generator rehabilitation projects for hydroelectric power plants from design to commissioning. It has around a hundred engineers in North America and works in collaboration with other engineering teams in South America, Europe and Asia. This division of GE carries out projects and provides solutions in renewable energy. Hydroelectric power plant rehabilitation projects, often including an increase in efficiency and power, produce a limited amount of carbon while increasing energy production capacity.

About the Role

Lead Engineer responsible for site support, reliability, and operations for hydroelectric power plant projects.

Responsibilities

  • Site visit to validate the condition of hydraulic turbines and alternators.
  • Supervise signature tests.
  • Daily call with the site to answer questions from the site team and to anticipate possible problems.
  • Make recommendations to the customer for additional work following disassembly and inspection of components.
  • Review and approval of assembly reports.
  • Handling non-conformities and resolving problems.
  • Visit to the plant during critical phases of projects.
  • Support during startup.
  • Monitoring of performance tests.
