About the Role
The commodity manager is responsible for the strategy for the procurement of goods and services within the framework of projects for the realization of turbine-generator groups of hydroelectric projects.
Responsibilities
Analyze the equipment acquisition needs of the company's projects.
Prepare purchase forecasts taking into account all projects to be carried out and current offers.
Develop sourcing strategies consistent with overall sourcing policies, meeting customer needs while generating cost reductions.
Deploy the purchasing strategy for its convenience in close collaboration with other relevant departments.
Identify and achieve the business and cost reduction objectives set for the year.
Complete the signing of framework agreements and price lists.
Administer and update framework agreements and price lists.
Identify and qualify new suppliers to develop and maintain a panel of North American suppliers.
Support the sourcing proposal coordinator in the preparation of offers.
Guide and support the purchasing specialist in the application of the commodity-in-execution strategy.
Monitor supplier performance, assess risks and opportunities linked to the supply chain.
