About the Role
The Manager, Environmental Compliance oversees and manages, with input from the Environmental Compliance team leadership, environmental studies and associated regulatory compliance for utility-scale solar and battery storage projects.
Responsibilities
Develop detailed scopes, timelines, and budgets for environmental assessments, permitting, and other regulatory compliance documentation.
Evaluate, select, contract, and manage external environmental consultants.
Oversee field studies such as aquatic resource delineations, protected species assessments, Phase I & II ESAs, and cultural resource reviews.
Assess environmental study reports for quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
Identify environmental risks and impacts, and develop effective strategies for avoidance, minimization, and mitigation.
Collaborate with community officials, resource agencies, and NGOs to address concerns and ensure appropriate conservation measures are implemented as a result of these engagements.
Coordinate with resource agencies to help facilitate timely issuance of required environmental permits and/or approvals.
Review and enhance project screening criteria to account for important environmental considerations.
