About the Role
The Lead Field Service Engineer - Drives under general guidance and minimal supervision, performs a wide range of engineering tasks and ensures proper installation, service and commissioning of products and services.
Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of GE drive systems at site locations.
Perform troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implements corrective actions.
Develop requisite documentation to execute work e.g. commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures daily logs etc.
Be capable of working unsupervised and leading small teams.
Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction.
Develop presentations and provides training and instruction to customers on drive operations.
Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE’s, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams.
Advise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell GE parts and services.
Coordinate maintenance activities for the customer and planning for inspections.
Provide support to engineering teams working on customer modernization projects.
Provide support the bidding process for the customer modernization projects.
Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service.
Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements.
Perform work on-board vessels within GE / Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore.
Extended hours / overtime maybe required during peak periods and emergency circumstances.
Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods of time.
