About the Role
The Lead Commercial Counsel will advise on various activities of Hydro in North America (primarily Canada) including the fulfilment/execution of commercial, sourcing and subcontracting activities as well as licensing and other corporate requirements for Hydro North America.
Responsibilities
Providing legal support and advice to the Hydro North America team mainly in relation to corporate legal requirements including governance, licenses, permissions and authorizations required in connection with its operations.
Sourcing and Supply Chain arrangements, including structuring, negotiation, approval and drafting of sourcing and supply chain contract documentation.
Commercial transactions, including contract review, drafting, negotiation and assistance on sales and service agreements.
Identifying and advising on changes in law and compliance standards/requirements impacting GE Hydro North America’s commercial activities.
Participating in business/deal reviews and deal approval meetings.
Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of relevant industries in order to contribute to the commercial objectives of the business from a legal perspective.
Assisting in the development of standard procedures, guidelines, precedents, training and other know how in relation to the various commercial activities of Hydro North America.
