Job Description

The Energetic Project Manager will lead the delivery of construction projects in the Transmission and Distribution sector in the UK, focusing on improving project efficiency and mentoring team members. This hybrid role combines remote work with on-site presence, requiring strong planning and project control skills.

Responsibilities

  • Own the project plan and ensure effective execution.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with the plan.
  • Provide actionable reports to stakeholders.
  • Develop scalable best practices and tools.
  • Maximize team development and client education.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years experience working on UK transmission and distribution projects.
  • Demonstrable reputation in the Transmission and Distribution sector, with past colleagues and stakeholders keen to work with you again.
  • Experience working on projects for UK Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and/or Transmission Operators (TOs) such as UKPN, National Grid, SPT, or SSE.
  • Mastery in construction engineering background with experience on construction projects.
  • Proven impact in planning and delivering projects and comfortable engaging with clients and leading others.
  • Proficient communicator in written and verbal English.
  • Ability to deliver and lead others to deliver planning and project controls services in the construction industry.
  • Good understanding of project delivery requirements from inception to closeout.
  • Ability to develop project execution plans and programmes appropriate to project maturity stage gate.
  • General understanding of contract forms, with preference to experience with NEC.
  • Ability to navigate complex project environments, processes, and requirements with minimal guidance.
  • Understanding of sector regulations, processes, and contractual practices.
  • Ability to develop comprehensive project strategies for transmission projects, encompassing scheduling, risk management, and cost control.
  • Ability to work directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
