About the Role
Reporting to the MD, Market Fundamentals & Transmission Modeling, this role will be responsible for supporting the analysis of CAISO and WECC power markets with a focus on transmission analysis, congestion, and curtailment risk.
Responsibilities
Perform short- and medium-term SCED studies to develop the Company’s internal view on the basis, curtailment, and congestion associated with the Company’s development and operating fleet.
Support energy optimization/trading team with scenario-based analysis to mitigate market risks via FTRs, DA, or term trading.
Analyze market impacts due to planned generation, transmission, retirements, and evolving energy market fundamentals.
Provide insights and analysis into congestion and curtailment in support of offtake structures.
Maintain updates to internal production-cost models based on changes to energy market fundamentals.
Lead and manage engagements with external transmission consultants.
Participate in relevant ISO, RTO, and PUC transmission and planning stakeholder meetings.
