About the Role

The O&M Manager is responsible for managing the operations and maintenance activities of the Owner’s generating assets, ensuring adequate and reliable equipment and units are available to meet generation requirements in a safe and cost-effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain care, custody, control and safe operation and maintenance of a 520 MW simple cycle power plant
  • Provide strong leadership and coaching for approximately 7 site personnel
  • Supervise regulatory compliance for NERC, environmental, health, and safety requirements
  • Assist in annual budget preparation for owner and effectively manage plant expenditures
  • Control all operational documents as outlined on the site Master List of Controlled Documents
  • Follow operational objectives consistent with achieving maximum plant efficiency
  • Develop, implement, monitor and revise operating procedures
  • Develop and implement training and personnel resource plans
  • Identify and diagnose equipment and system operating failures
  • Be responsible for the development and recording of operations data
  • Maintain availability 24 hours per day on-call basis
  • Participate in outage planning and execution
  • Facilitate and coordinate proactive risk assessment and root-cause analysis
  • Develop and implement process improvements utilizing Management of Change procedures
  • Recruit, interview and actively participate in the selection of operation staff
  • Maintain consistent communications with the Plant Manager, EHS Manager, and NERC Manager
