About the Role
The Manufacturing Shop Operation Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of day-to-day operations on the shop floor, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
Responsibilities
Oversee all shop floor operations, ensuring production schedules are met, and products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.
Lead and manage a team leaders, operators, and support staff, providing direction, support, and development opportunities.
Ensure production efficiency by monitoring workflow, adjusting schedules, and optimizing resource allocation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational efficiency.
Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, conducting regular safety audits and addressing any potential hazards promptly.
Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure all products meet required specifications and standards.
Develop and implement operational strategies and best practices to optimize manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to machinery, equipment, or production processes in coordination with the maintenance team.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as production output, downtime, and scrap rates to ensure optimal performance.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure seamless operations.
Manage inventory levels, ensuring materials and supplies are available to meet production demands while minimizing excess stock.
Ensure compliance with company policies, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations, and other applicable standards.
Prepare and present operational performance reports to senior management, identifying areas for improvement and recommending solutions.
