About the Role
The Lead Manufacturing Welding Engineer is responsible for training and support operations, located at the GE Hitachi Nuclear HQ in Wilmington, NC.
Responsibilities
- Embrace GE Hitachi Nuclear safety culture.
- Develop team members knowledge base of metal working processes.
- Serve as project leader on welding capital projects.
- Support other manufacturing areas on site for welding related matters.
- Maintain and modernize manufacturing techniques and process monitoring.
- Specify proper equipment or welding centers for acquisition.
- Technical leader for first piece qualifications and serial production.
- Develop programs and welding solutions.
- Develop and support nitride, heat treat and clean room processes.
- Technical writing of work instructions and standard work.
- Work cross-functionally with design and quality engineering.
- Maintain, review, update, and create area manufacturing documents.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality regulations.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.
