About the Role

The Health & Welfare Accountant is responsible for key accounting and reporting processes associated with GE Vernova Health and Welfare Plans, focused on US Based Employees & Retirees.

Responsibilities

  • Accounting lead for Retiree Health & Life (RH&L) valuation
  • Monthly JE’s & FAS 158 workpaper
  • Hyperion updates
  • Census file review/reconciliation
  • 10-K/10-Q tie-out
  • Lead contact for Deloitte review
  • Prepare quarterly EBNI calculations
  • Assist with preparing monthly ledger over/under analysis
  • CAVOL process owner including annual filings
  • Owner of monthly contributions process
  • Owner of pay-all life insurance plans
  • Prepare quarterly PCORI accrual & billing
  • Support pricing analysis & cost model for union negotiations
  • Account reconciliation, JE/wire prep & review

Requirements

  • Knowledge of US ERISA law
  • Experience managing and accounting for US-based health and welfare programs
  • Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion, TORCH)
  • Strong Excel skills
