About the Role
The GE Vernova(GEV) Onshore Wind(ONW) Grid Applications & Integration Technical Leader provides essential grid applications support for customer proposals and orders, while leading grid integration activities including grid advocacy and electrical simulation modeling efforts.
Responsibilities
Lead and mentor other senior and junior engineers to accomplish the priorities for grid applications and interfaces in GEV ONW Engineering
Determine control settings for GE’s WindCONTROL plant controller for wind farm projects
Identify requirements for coordinating voltage control with other power plants in the region
Help customers understand what features & settings they need to help them comply with grid codes
Adapt and provide power system load flow and PSCAD electrical dynamic models for customer and utility grid studies
Help customers and new product introduction teams address the variety of North America grid requirements
Develop strategy to respond to the latest grid integration requirements, ISO grid interconnection requirements, FERC orders or NERC reliability standards
Develop strategy to respond to customers’ requests for GE legacy wind turbines grid compliance
Help identify grid interconnection risks and mitigation approaches for wind farms
Lead and identify opportunities to influence grid code requirements, and to improve GEV’s products and documentation based on grid requirements and trends
Support customers and Sales in answering questions and resolving grid concerns for wind farm proposals and orders
Work closely with world class experts in GE Vernova Consulting Services and Design engineering to develop leading-edge grid compatible wind turbines
Generate internal and external technical papers, guidance papers on GE wind turbines grid compatibility, performance and grid compliance
Develop, improve and optimize Grid team’s standard work packages and processes
