About the Role
The Gas Power Packaging Engineer will support all activities in alignment with the Gas Power packing roadmap under the supervision of the Gas Power Global Packaging Leader.
Responsibilities
Develop packaging designs/preservation and related technical documentation such as manufacturing drawings, calculation notes and transport drawings.
Adapt the packaging designs to the modes of transport, logistic cycle, storage conditions respecting company EHS and international transport standards.
Evaluate and measure packaging components & technical drawings to determine acceptability for use; maintain accurate records of test results and observations.
Create & refine Standard Operating Procedures and Policies for packaging related processes & activities.
Frequent communication of critical information between key internal customer groups.
Provide support to Manufacturing, Operations and Sourcing to solve packaging-related problems.
Use all available physical & electronic resources to research technical problems and find solutions independently.
Take ownership of all packaging related issues within the company for both domestic and international products.
Follow daily management process as established by the Global Packaging Leader.
Develop and publish packaging specifications to subcontract the packaging design studies.
Ensure the best match between the cost of packaging, its quality and the cost of transporting components.
Review and validate packaging procedures issued by component suppliers.
Monitor the quality of packaging and take corrective measures in the event of a defect noted.
Expands scope beyond existing/upcoming initiatives and seeks new strategic initiatives that would bring value for the business via continuous assessment and challenging of existing processes.
Perform and/or manage special projects under the direction of the Global Packaging Leader.
