We are seeking a multi-faceted Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of identifying, analyzing, root causing, developing/designing and implementing countermeasures and reporting on issues affecting various vehicle systems like Exteriors, Interiors, Lights, Body, IP, etc. The Fleet Root Causing Engineering team’s mission is to improve customer experience of Tesla products by eliminating fleet issues, in collaboration with a large cross-section of other engineering teams. Engineers on the team are responsible for one or more vehicle systems for Model S/X/3/Y, Cybertruck, Semi and future programs. This is a very hands-on individual contributor role with duties focused on failure analysis and root cause activities. To be effective, the Fleet Root Causing Engineer will either need to be intimately familiar with the detailed behavior of these components and systems and the tools and equipment used in their design and manufacture or be a quick learning generalist with sufficiently relevant background. The Engineer will work with other Engineering teams to quickly mitigate and implement countermeasures of field issues to improve quality, reliability, and durability of the products.
