Tesla is seeking a Technician to support engineering development for cell manufacturing automation equipment, including development, installation, commissioning, and retrofitting. The role involves working closely with engineering teams (mechanical, software, process, and electrical) to address challenging automation equipment issues. Hands-on experience with vision systems is a plus. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated interest in computer/PLC and industrial automation/machinery systems, especially with distributed controllers using a fieldbus technology, knowledge of EtherCat, profinet is preferred. The candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision and be familiar with electrical instruments such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, as well as mechanical tools to assist in diagnosing and repairing equipment. Tesla's projects are highly dynamic, as the company continuously adjusts priorities to improve productivity and efficiency. The candidate must be able to handle multitasking in a fast-paced environment with aggressive schedules and timelines. The automation equipment will be installed, commissioned, and operated at Tesla facilities located in Austin, TX.
