Job Description
The Project Finance Valuation Analyst at New Leaf Energy will develop financial models to evaluate and maximize the valuations of renewable energy projects, while collaborating with various teams to analyze project economics and market dynamics throughout all stages of project development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and analyze financial models to evaluate project valuations and profitability.
- Research energy prices and translate market data into internal price forecasting.
- Serve as the relationship manager with third-party price forecasting consultants.
- Analyze financial models and customer feedback to communicate insights on valuation drivers.
- Coordinate with policy teams to integrate community solar program developments into financial models.
- Support strategic project development decision-making based on cash flow and market insights.
- Drive the development and adoption of new tools for project development efficiency.
- Engage with customers to educate on revenue structures and negotiate purchase prices.
- Collaborate with design engineering to optimize project economics.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field
- Master's Degree in relevant field or MBA preferred
- 3 to 5 years experience with the United States energy industry, ideally in the renewable energy industry
- Project finance modeling and power markets analysis experience
- Mastery of Microsoft Excel required
- VBA experience preferred
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced business environment
- Knowledge of energy or renewable energy development and finance
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Proactive and able to work independently
- Ability to analyze financial models and understand the impact of various key drivers
- Technology-oriented
- Very strong written and verbal communication skills
