Job Description
The role involves managing and enhancing design processes within the ArcGIS software development teams, focusing on establishing design standards, improving team efficiency, and fostering collaboration among UX/UI leaders and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Build relationships with UX UI leaders, researchers, project managers, and developers.
- Promote shared UX standards and help scale the product design team.
- Enhance design skills by identifying improvements and suggesting training.
- Mentor others and promote best practices in design.
- Coordinate discussions and collaboration among team members.
- Manage team participation at conferences and organized meetups.
- Collect feedback and optimize interactions for consistency across products.
- Build shared design components and documentation.
- Craft communications to promote adoption of design standards.
- Implement scalable DesignOps practices.
- Manage access to essential design tools and information.
- Curate information and data to highlight trends.
- Partner with UX Research to establish ROI definitions and measurements.
- Share findings in updates and reporting.
Requirements
- 5 years applied experience in software product design
- Experience coordinating or leading the increased capacity and productivity of a modern product design team
- Proficiency in project management tools, such as Figma, GitHub, Confluence, and Microsoft Project
- Strong understanding of project management, design operations, and change management
- Ability to facilitate workshops and present to large audiences, communicating design concepts effectively
- Excellent written and verbal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Bachelor's in human-computer interaction, user experience, interaction design, applied social science, or a related field
